TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

DO I NEED TO BOOK?

No, during regular opening hours it is DROP-IN.

HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN TO A CABLE PARK BEFORE?

No problem! We always have a coach on site to help you get started. If you have been water skiing or wakeboarding after boating before, this is no problem at all. You will probably find this a little bit easier. If you have skied or snowboarded, you also have a certain advantage. The difference is not as big as you might think, and snowboarders have that "toe and heel" in the body.

If you have never tried a ski or board sport, you will just need a little patience and one of our excellent coaches, and you will also experience the special feeling of freedom of riding over the water. Several of our coaches have National Team experience (and medals from the Swedish Championships, European Championships and World Championships at home in the closet), and they rarely fail with beginners.

If you have any questions, please email info@cablepark.se

HAVE YOU NEVER TRIED THIS, OR WANT TO DEVELOP YOUR RIDING?

You don't have to participate at a camp to ride and have fun, but it can speed up your development to ride more concentrated and under the guidance of a coach, as well as in groups. The Cable Park organizes camps for young people 10-16 years during the seasons. See here for current camp activities

GO WITH YOUR FRIENDS, WORK COLLEGUES OR MAYBE THE SCHOOL CLASS?

Pull together the friends /work team and email a request for booking of group skiing with your own coach to order@cablepark.se. Everything from groups of friends, stag parties and companies to school classes and ice hockey teams.

Please note that alcohol must not be brought into the property. Helmet and life jacket are mandatory and swimming skills are required. All skiing is at your own risk.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - FAQ

1DO I NEED TO BOOK?
No, during regular opening hours it is DROP-IN.
2WHAT IS THE COST OF DRIVING?
3WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING HOURS?
4CAN I BUY GIFT CARDS FROM YOU?
Birthday present for the girlfriend, boyfriend, son, daughter or a friend? No problem – email order@cablepark.se and give us your contact information and the desired amount, and a nice gift card will come to your home!
5CAN YOU STAY/SLEEP SOMEWHERE NEARBY?
Unfortunately, The Cable Park doesn't have any "guest cottages" anymore. Accommodation is available at Good Morning Hotel, Clarion Hotel and SAS Radisson Blu Hotel nearby – as well as Jumbo Hostel. Camping is located within the municipality. See here for accommodation
6HOW FAST IS IT?
Wakeboard/wakeskate does not require high speed, the "normal speed" of the cable is around 16 knots, thus just under 30 km/h. (During the summer we also have +24 to 28C (!) in the lake)
7IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT TO TRAVEL?
We have a recommended minimum age limit of 10 years. Being able to swim is a given, but very good "water skills" are also important! (as you can tumble around in/under the water when/if you fall. It's also about height and physical strength, which can differ a lot at younger ages and the cable goes at the same speed for everyone). Skiers up to 16 years old must have a major on site, as skiing is done under the supervision and responsibility of a major. (Most younger ones usually start with Kneeboard, to get a "feel for riding on water"). We organize 3 youth camps (10-16yrs) each season, where younger skiers can learn and develop in a good way.
8WHAT DO I DO IF (WHEN?) I FALL?
With eight riders in the track, there is just over 80 meters between each rider. It is a requirement to have good visual control and when/if You fall, swim away from the direction of the cable. Around the track we have some 550 meters of jetties, which you can easily swim to - and then walk back to the starting dock.
9WHAT EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED?
Life jacket and helmet are mandatory and are included in the ski pass. Furthermore, it is assumed that you are knowledgeable in swimming, and understand that all skiing is at your own risk. You can of course have your own equipment with you if you want – if you don't have it, there is everything to rent on site. See here for prices
10HOW LONG CAN I TRAVEL?
This is your choice; from an hour and up, just like with a ski pass. Available time also varies with day of the week and the number of visitors to the resort. If there are a lot of people queuing on the starting bridge, it is practice on most cable parks to run a maximum of three or five laps and then restart again, so that everyone can go.
11HOW DO I KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE BEEN TRAVELLING?
When you buy a riding pass, you get a bracelet where "the end" time stands for your riding.
12FOOD/DRINK TAKEN ?
Since we both run a sports facility and have a restaurant with a serving permit, own alcohol is NOT allowed on the facility. You can't ride if you've consumed alcohol either. If you want a picnic, you can use the resort's lawns. As the Cable Park is located within the airport area, barbecue (disposable barbecue, etc.) is unfortunately not allowed at the resort.
13CAN YOU GO IN REALLY BAD WEATHER?
The cable does not run when there is a risk of thunderstorms because the cable and poles are made of metal, or in extremely strong winds. Always check here on the website or on our Facebook page or Instagram on the day you are going to visit TCP.
14WHY DO I NEED A LIFE JACKET AND HELMET?
A mandatory life jacket is a given thing – and so is helmets. All for your safety and also an insurance issue. However, all riding is at your own risk, just as, as an example, skiing at a ski resort - or other sports activities.
15CAN I BRING MY OWN EQUIPMENT?
Yes, it's okay to ride with your own stuff. However, Your life jacket and helmet must be approved with the so called CE marking. If not, we have such in the rental. We always check FINS on private boards, because the wrong materials (eg metal) will damage rails and kickers - and hence is not allowed.
16CORPORATE EVENT, BACHELOR OR BACHELORETTE PARTY?
